Rubies in the Kitchen are a group of eclectic and fabulously gorgeous women who love to sing a cappella, sometimes in the kitchen, but also in more public places too. Kay Morton, a composer and singer, leads this group of twelve women singing in glorious harmony.
The Rubies sing a wide range of musical genres: pop, jazz, folk, gospel, world music (African, Bulgarian, Polish, Polynesian), madrigals and original compositions.
The Rubies have been busy in 2010!
We're thrilled that our recording of Kay's Earth Hour song, 'Turn off the Lights', made the top-10 shortlist for the ABC/Apollo Bay Music Festival song competition!
In April and May we're singing at several festivals, including the Melbourne Festival of Choirs and the Get Vocal Contemporary A Cappella Festival. Find out more about our upcoming performances.
We've set up a Rubies in the Kitchen Facebook page - have a look and become a fan!
